My name is Roger Lacroix and I am a die hard programmer. I have been programming since the 80s. My favorite programming languages are Java, C and Rexx. I have worked in the Airline, Retail but I have spent most of my time doing middleware work in the financial services industry. In 1994, I was introduced to IBM MQ (aka WebSphere MQ & MQSeries) and I thought it was the next best thing since man created fire. This blog will be about IBM MQ, Java, C, Rexx and any other interesting items that I can think of. I hope you enjoy it.

High performance IBM MQ & JMS applications

s

Bastien Jansen has written a blog posting called: High performance IBM MQ & JMS applications. If you program in JMS and IBM MQ then you should definitely read the blog posting. You can find it here: https://bjansen.github.io/java/2018/03/04/high-performance-mq-jms.html Persistent messages are used by queue managers to guarantee message delivery. That’s not the correct IBM terminology. It […]

Creating a Standard for MQ Messages to/from SQLite DB

s

Yesterday, I wrote about MQ Messages to/from SQLite DB which are a pair of utilities for offloading and loading messages to/from SQLite database. I thought it would be a good idea to publish what I designed so that other vendors, companies or users can easy use the standard. First, the SQL to create the table […]

MQ Messages to/from SQLite DB

s

Capitalware has an MQ solution called MQ Message Replication (MQMR). MQ Message Replication will clone messages being written (via MQPUT or MQPUT1 API calls) to an application’s output queue and MQMR will write the exact same messages to ‘n’ target queues (‘n’ can be up to 100). When MQMR replicates a message both the message […]

American Express and Me

A long time ago, I mean a LONG time ago when I was 20, back in 1981 (like I said, a long time ago), I was working full time at a Chrysler/Dodge dealership and also working part-time at McDonald’s on the weekends. I already had a Visa credit card for about 8-12 months (I don’t […]
