Description:
For the MQXR component (MQTT Broker), add support for “$SYS Topic” messages as defined on the following web page: https://github.com/mqtt/mqtt.github.io/wiki/SYS-Topics
Yes, the broker status information can be retrieved via PCF commands, but if IBM MQ’s MQXR component is acting as an MQTT Broker then it also needs to offer a complete/pure MQTT access to the “$SYS Topic” information.
Use case:
For those companies who will be using IBM MQ as a pure MQTT Broker then MQTT clients should be able to retrieve broker status information using only an MQTT client program.
Business justification:
Companies who want to only use IBM MQ as an MQTT Broker should not be forced to implement an MQ only solution to retrieve broker status information. This involves extra cost for training and/or purchase of MQ only solutions.
